Should have been Oscar-nominated for role as Paul Child

I don't get all the nominations for his role in the Lovely Bones. I thought his performance as Paul Child in Julie & Julia was the role most deserving of accolades. Subtle, nuanced, beautifully-portrayed...and perfectly cast.

He was fantastic in both roles as two COMPLETELY different people, which only shows his talent and range as an actor. In "Lovely Bones," though, he just nailed it as the kind of character who gets completely under your skin and won't stop itching. To think that men like George Harvey walk around free in this world is truly a terrifying thing, and I think that's why Tucci deserved all the recognition he got for it. It doesn't take away from the different kind of accomplishments he made playing Paul Child, but it's hard to argue that he did an incredible job with a very dark role.

I agree he was fantastic in both roles, all roles actually.
I felt very bad for him at the Oscars. You could see the hurt in his eyes when he didn't win. Not out of disrespect for the other actors, but I think he thought he really nailed this role in "The Lovely Bones".
I have never been so spooked as I was watching Mr Harvey. Especially in the hidden fort he built and when he lured Susie down. Spooky, evil and sick! My pulse was pounding as you watched him try desperately to relate to her while planning his moves. You can only imagine the pure terror she felt as the light began dawning on her soul. The feeling of complete impending doom slowing rising.

You are the most awesome Mr. Tucci...................

I'm watching Julie & Julia AGAIN. I think the chemistry between Ms. Streep and Mr. Tucci is amazing. I agree 100% he should have been nominated.
