Danny the dog-lover

I don't recall now whether it was on "Pit Boss" or "Pit Bulls and Parolees", but Danny saved a pit that was being abused (he was driving behind a pick-up, and a passenger was jabbing the poor dog with a stick through the window). I don't know whether it was Danny personally (wouldn't be surprised) or a rescuer or police who got the dog away from these brutal a-holes, but I do know the dog was adopted and named "Trejo." Bravo, Danny.

Danny Trejo is awesome and an unsung character actor! Kudos to him for rescuing the dog!

If anyone has the complete story on this, I'd really love to hear it from Danny's point of view. I'm pretty sure it was Tia Torres from Pit Bulls and Parolees who mentioned it (in last year's show), but if Danny reads these boards or anyone close to him, I'd love to hear more. I have the feeling Danny, the ultimate badass, is a total softie when it comes to animals.

Too bad he can't come down here... We rescued a pit a couple of years ago in awful shape... adult male weighing 43 pounds, living on a 4 foot chain in the mud with no shelter or food and water. But we have a lot of that here with all kinds of dogs plus some fighting rings that can't be stopped. This is a rural area where law enforcement doesn't care and a lot of people still have that "it's only a dog attitude" that makes you was to slam their head in a kennel door then chain them up outside for years with no food, water or shelter when it is 100 degrees or cold and raining. Most of those people aren't open to persuasion for surrender but intimidation goes a long way.
