How could the late Queen not know who he is?

Review from his new autobio

In fact, snubs from creative titans have tended to rankle with Stewart, not least the icy reception from Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, when, in 1986, Stewart was first put forward for the role of Jean-Luc Picard. Long after that made Stewart a household name, the late Queen, on the occasion of his knighthood in 2010, showed not a glimmer of recognition: ouch. Throughout Making It So, Stewart gives the impression of never forgetting such slights. But he has, at least, always had the knack of sending up his own classically-trained pomposity. His writing may not have the rugged truth of his best acting, but a wry, conversational charm sees it across the line.

I flicked through the book in supermarket other week and read the Queen bit, basically he went to be knighted, she said 'have you been doing this long?', he said 'oh yes ma'am I've been doing this a very long time', and expected her to ask him something more but that was it. good bye. Next. She didn't seem to have a clue who he was. Then he noticed how she interacted alot with the women being given damehoods etc asking them lots of questions, long discussions as they were being honoured. He said he'd heard Charles was abit of a fan of Star Trek TNG and attended one of the movie Royal premieres (First Contact) but didn't know for certain. but hoped to find out one day..

This is strange as I'm sure years ago reading about how the Queen was an avid watcher of Star Trek TNG (perhaps PS had heard this too, and was half expecting HRH to greet him with the Vulcan hand salute and quiz him for quarter of an hour about The Best of Both Worlds, The Inner Light, Chain of Command and if there are any plans for more TNG movies) and even if that were not true surely she would know of the famous Shakespearean actor Patrick Stewart (or at least briefed by an aide, 'ok ma'am today you'll be knighting actor Patrick Stewart. hes kind of a big deal. star of Star Trek and XMen and lots of Shakespeare theatre stuff')

The queen of what?
It's 2023, I recognize no such bullshite any longer.
His title as Captain of the Enterprise is more important, relevant and real than hers.

Probably because she was 170 years old and didn't even recognize herself in the mirror. Or maybe it wasn't even the real Queen, but an imposter named Henrietta R. Hippo.
