also spent the last 28 years doing forgettable movies and TV shows, although I thought "The Single Guy" had more potential than "Friends" and it was programmed along side with it, the audience wasn't as receptive for some reason.

i too remember that TV show! i wonder why he didn't blow up. has he done any recent interviews?

I never really followed his career, but he was always recognizable to me since his big hits like Weekend at Bernies and Brighton Beach Memoirs. I figured he'd be in the same type of roles Matthew Broderick, Ben Stiller, and Jonathan Livingston, but it just never panned out. I vividly remember his small role in "Made" and though it was strange he would have such a low-profile role.
