I would agree with #9,10,11,22,31,43 and ESPECIALLY #47 - my third all-time favorite female performance, following Sissy Spacek in "Carrie" and Shelly Duvall in "3 Women" (which, coincidentally, also stars Sissy Spacek!)

In your opinion. It's always a personal opinion for lists like this. If you just listed say the 50 best female performers there'd most likely be several that are missing here including Barbra Stanswick, Kathern Hepburn, Lucille Ball (Early days were a lot like Stanswick) and so many more. The problem with many good actresses (Especially the past 40 years or more) is they often lose their worth with age unless they are considered extra special. Where actors generally get get through ageing without losing the ability to get parts as often. Its all about selling tickets and commercials to the 17 to 35 year old males. Fortunately that wasn't the case in a lot of the classics so many of the really great actresses starred in a lot of films
