First Carrie Fisher, now Debbie Reynolds
Let's not complete the trilogy and have Todd Fisher die tomorrow as I am sure this week since Friday has been weird for the Fisher family with first Carrie Fisher suffering a heart attack on board a plane close to landing in Los Angles, being revived and then being taken to the hospital, of which she died yesterday. And now Debbie Reynolds suffering a stroke and dying today as quick as she did. And I am sure that it is a sad week for Billie Lourd, first having her mother die and then lose her grandmother 24 hours or a little more later on. According to what is written on Carrie Fisher's wikipedia page
On December 23, 2016, Fisher was on a United Airlines flight from London to Los Angeles while promoting her new book when she went into cardiac arrest fifteen minutes before the plane landed at Los Angeles International Airport.[90][a] A passenger seated near Fisher reported that she had stopped breathing.[93] Another passenger performed CPR on Fisher until paramedics arrived at the scene. After being taken by ambulance to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, she was placed on a ventilator.[94]
Fisher died on December 27 at 8:55 a.m. (PST) in Los Angeles at 60 years of age.[95] Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd, confirmed her mother's death in a statement given to the press shortly afterward by family spokesperson, Simon Halls.[96] News of Fisher's death spread quickly online where fans from around the world responded with tributes and condolences. Many of her costars and directors from Star Wars and other works also shared their thoughts on Fisher's death.[97]
At the time of her death, Fisher was survived by her daughter, her mother Debbie Reynolds, her brother Todd Fisher and their half-sisters Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher along with her beloved dog Gary.[98][99] Reynolds died the following day after being rushed to the hospital from her son's house, where they were meeting to plan Fisher's funeral.[100] Todd Fisher told Variety that his mother "wanted to be with Carrie."[101]
In her book, Wishful Drinking, Fisher wrote about her eventual obituary: "I want it reported that I drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra." Several obituaries and retrospectives featured the quote
