She was already an old lady in poor health so at that age you can go any day as it is, but Carrie's death obviously broke her heart and hurt her already fragile health

So if Carrie didn't die do you think debbie would still be alive?

Probably she was in a lot of stress because of the death of her daughter. A lot of stress can kill you especially at her age!
