Too much stress for an 84 year old...
...mom with a heart problem. How sad.
sharei know it's so sad.
shareShe (apparently) died of a stroke.
shareShe (apparently) died of a stroke. Right. It's hard for people to get a death story straight, including journalists, because so many people don't understand the differences among cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke and aneurysm, so they wind up using the words interchangeably. If a physician uses a highly technical term when giving a press conference, the journalists have to run to Wikipedia to look it up, and maybe that is the way it should be, but they probably won't. They prefer to inject their own interpretations into matters and be the first to publish a report.
You can will yourself to die. My father had Parkinsons and when he got to the point he could no longer walk and had trouble eating I could see he had given up. I saw him on a Sunday and he died that Tuesday night. I really think he didn't want to be around anymore and gave up.
shareMy 87 y/o mother has P, and can no longer walk. My half-sister, who is a geriatric nurse, has taken a leave of absence from her hospital in order to supervise her care at my h-s's house. I'm worried because her two remaining sisters are both in poor health, and she doesn't want to be left alone without them.

Sorry about your mother, it's a horrible disease.
...mom with a heart problem. It was a stroke, and not necessarily a stroke within the heart itself. Maybe it could be argued that her heart was too weak to overcome the stroke, but apparently it more of a vascular problem, whether cardiovascular or otherwise.
shareThank you; I share your sorrow about the loss of your father.
