Deb was very ill past 2 years

Heard it from Carrie's mouth on radio last month ( Nov 28th ) on NPR show; Fresh Air w/ Terry Gross. Fabulous interview & she discuss's 'the year from Hell' of Deb in the hospital having 2 serious strokes, etc... She was in fragile health when Carrie passed. Unfortunately, only a matter of time.

Yes true I played that NPR radio interview program also she had been frail and ill for a long while.

Carrie's death was the last her heart could take, so very sad and heart breaking for them both and their surviving son-brother Todd Fisher and his only niece Billie Lourd age 24, Carrie's daughter and Debbie's grand daughter.

4 years actually, her first stroke was in the fall of 2012. Her doctor had put her on some new meds, caused her to have a massive stroke. Recovered pretty well, the following spring was able to publicize her new memoir Unsinkable. After that was one thing after another including multiple surgeries that went wrong. A string of other strokes.

Didn't know of the details & that it was over 4 yrs of illness. Wondered where she was when Carrie/Billie picked up her Oscar (?) cause she was in hospital/convalescing? Yes, very sad but these many posts about suspicion are just plain silly.

She was at home recovering from a surgery that didn't go like had been expected, she had suffered a minor stroke. As could be rather told by the message she recorded which wa played.

A friend of mine told me that, Carrie lived next door to her mother, and would go over everyday, and cook her meals.

reply

Carrie had cooked for her mother even beforehand, Debbie didn't cook.

reply

Debbie didn't cook at all, even when she was healthy?

reply

Nope, she could probably do simple things but mentioned multiple times she avoided the kitchen as a general rule. She didn't need to, her brother lived with her helped take care of the house etc when she toured 40 weeks a year until 2011. Also had an assistant who did most everything for her and of course she had Carrie, who loved being domestic.
