For everyone who keeps saying "Can 2016 possibly get any worse?"

… Of course it can! So stop asking!

Unless you just want to see how bad things can possibly get, like some sort of betting game, then quit asking this asinine question! Because the answer is always – things can always get worse. So, it's better not to even think about it… Otherwise, it's like you're trying to hurry it along. Food for thought.

Also, just FYI – people die every year! It's become popular this year because of politics (and Trump haters), to say that 2016 is the worst year ever, but that is simply not true. Every year is the worst, when someone we love dies. It happens all the time, every day, every month, every year. It's sad. But it happens.

On another note, in the midst of the grief and the exaggerated statements, people are seeming to overlook the beauty of the tragedy. There is a light – there is a silver lining. And that is the love that Debbie and Carrie had between each other. The love that that whole family shared. How many of us can say that we know a love like that? If you can, you're lucky.

It's sad that anyone would have to live with that kind of grief, but it's also very very lucky that they got to live knowing that kind of love as well. Let's not forget that.

To me, 2016 has been bad year! Not just because of the constant celebrity deaths. I also lost grandmother and aunt as well.

"Trump haters"?

The only peple I recall caterwauling about 2016 being BAD and such a Disaster is the Donald Trump campaign. 

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my mother and uncle this year. Like the OP said, regular people die every day. People seem to get freaked out when celebrities die.

2016 has not been bad. As I said before – it's all relative. 2016 is bad for anyone who lost a loved one, including a beloved celebrity.

But what gets my goat is when people blame the deaths of someone on the life of someone else – calling it "the Trump effect" (go on the Carrie Fisher board, and you'll see that).

In other words, they are blaming his life for their deaths. That's disgusting! Even more disgusting is the fact that they wish – and even pray – for his death. But surely, the more they do that, the stronger he'll get, because God doesn't listen to wicked wishes. Therefore, God will probably go out of his divine way to protect the one receiving those wicked wishes – food for thought, for anyone bothering to pray such nasty prayers!

Also, my main reason for starting this thread was not to say the 2016 is no worse than any other year. My reason for starting this thread was to express my frustration with the fact that people keep asking the question "can it possibly get any worse?" As though they want it to get worse.

I know people don't really want the year to get worse. But my point was, when you ask questions like that, you're putting the idea out there in the universe to make the year worse. You may not believe in jinxing things, but I do. I think when people ask questions like that, they sort of jinx themselves and others.
