Always liked her (2 big reasons)
1) her eyes - perfect combination of sadness, class, emotionality and sensuality. It's a good physical trait for an actress to have because age has little effect on a set of entrancing eyes. Certainly a lot more appealing than someone like Meg Foster whose eyes were striking but a little scary-looking, for better or worse.
2) her choice of roles - she always had something of a free-spirited nature to her, a sense of humor, and took controversial roles in controversial movies very seriously. I've never heard her bad-mouth the notorious films she was in, including stuff with tricky subject matter like Night Porter, The Damned, Swimming Pool, etc. She didn't seem too hung-up about nudity, language, violence, or general themes, though she was selective enough to not show up in much in the way of B-movie trash. She's equally as good as a love interest as she is as a supportive character or a villain.
I did see her once in Santa Monica ~2015 when she did a Q&A at a screening for one of her films (I have forgotten which one but she was promoting 45 YEARS with Tom Courtenay, who had aged far worse), and have to say she was much thinner than I expected (borderline unhealthily so) but I thought she had a very joyous and fun energy to her. She seems like a pretty cool person all-around.
