Does she get the worse parts, or is she just bad?

It seems every movie I have ever seen her in she plays the unknowing blonde.
I don't know if it's her or the people writing the scripts for the movies. Take for instance domestic disturbance: NO ONE could ever be as dense as she is and ignore how suspicious vince vaughn's character is. Its just like she tries her hardest to be as retarded as possible and not use any common sense.

I saw alot of the same behavior in meet the parents, the 2nd moreso then the first. It's just like she is there to look at and not offer any kind of believability in her characters.

I thought the writing on both meet the parents movies was above average, but again her character just seemed to fill a typecast role of the complacent girlfriend who goes along with whatever.

tell me if I am wrong.

I think she just gets typecast because she looks so 'pretty'. But have you seen her on West Wing this season? She is really very good.

She's not like that in everything: for example, the Due South guest role she did. Her character was an activist who was trying to save horses' lives, and she seemed smart, determined, and resourceful. She started out as being kind of abrasive, but later softened towards Fraser (the main character). Not what I'd call a "typical blonde" part.
