Why the hell did she leave 'Weeds'?

Her contract was up and she believed there wasn't much more for Celia to do other than be "whipped" by Nancy.

Elizabeth actually didn't want to leave according to her twitter. The writers just wrote her character off.

The impression that I'm getting is that she was simply written out, not by her choice to leave. I desperately want her back on the show!

If season 8 is really gonna be the last she simply needs to return.

I agree, before Weeds ends, Celia needs to reappear. I mean they brought back freakin Dean ffs. Though I read somewhere that the show's creator said Celia went back to Agrestic/Majestic and became a successful dealer. Who knows how her and Nancy's paths could cross... unless Nancy returned to Agrestic.

Nancy pistol whipped Celia and knocked her teeth out once!

Just finished watching season 8. Really thought she'd turn up in the final episode at least. She didn't. When I watched the commentary (Blu Ray) they brought it up about having some ideas of how they would have worked her in but made the comment "we felt whe was too important to just mention, but without the actress we decided to not mention her at all and leave it up to the audience to speculate what happened to her character".

I'm guessing they made her an offer she felt was too small and she pulled out.
