I know that you probably never met him, but from what you heard or read, do you think he was nice?

He was OK. Not super friendly or open. He liked to chat if you didn't as about movies or "work". I met him a few times at Ye Old Kings Head a pub in Santa Monica. I saw him a few weeks before he died. He was fairly large at the time.
