Six months past the deadline for his latest book and suffering from a severe case of writer's block, a stay-at-home novelist finds himself on the brink of a full-on mid-life crisis. It is only through unlikely budding friendship with his next-door neighbor he is able to again find inspiration. When his wife becomes suspicious of his new "companion," her anxious search for clues only leads to confusion, and explaining this new connection that may be the salvation of his career proves painfully difficult.
