That doesn't surprise me. The 1950s and 60s was when it became seen as acceptable to spike the drinks of or liquor up women at parties to "loosen their inhibitions". It was such a thing that one of the plot points of How to Murder Your Wife involved the main character spiking his wife's drink. Bill Cosby also did a whole set about Spanish Fly. Not only that, there used to be alcohol ads in Playboy, too, suggesting to readers that a particular brand of liquor was the best way to loosen a woman up.
