80 Today

It's a sad time, what with all the shocking, and seemingly endless, celebrity
deaths. But December 29, 2016, marks MTM's 80th birthday. From everything
I've heard, she's not exactly in a place to "celebrate", so us fans have to
do it for her.

For me, it's a run of 1996's "Flirting With Disaster." A great ensemble film,
with a terrific turn as Ben Stiller's neurotic, Jewish mother. Moore is a hoot,
and this undervalued film is further proof still that Moore was so much more
than Mary Richards.

Every reference book I've seen (since I was a kid and up) states she was
born December 29, 1936. Also, an acquaintance of my mom went to high school
with her for a while (which would add up mathematically). Perhaps she shaved
a few years off some time ago. In any case, I believe she is now 80.

It's more than the YEAR that's in question - another thread states her birthday
isn't even December 29th, it's in March (I believe this is incorrect, but who
knows?).

By the way, the acquaintance of my mom who went to school with her (I think it
was Catholic school, but I might be wrong) said that all she remembered was that
she went by the name of "Mary Moore" (no "Tyler"), and that she was extremely
shy.
