Courage is a greater legacy than bombing as an it girl
Dear Gretchen:
As one of the posters so eloquently suggested:
"Well, if it is true I say out the bastard and write a book about it. Nobody should get away with taking advantage of anyone like that. What a jerk!"
I've seen several of your performances, most recently in "An American Affair", your work was excellent. Only you know if the tawdry bit of gossip concerning Weinstein is true. But there is a truth for which there is no question, the guy's a pig. Each of us, in our own way has compromised or allowed persons or situations into our lives who or were not worthy. You don't need an unworthy chunk of staph infected rectal filth like Weinstein to validate your abilities as an actress.
The beauty of time is that it is rarely kind to the unworthy. Certain "stars" whose films are gutless, mindless drivel won't find a willing audience when their "America's Sweetheart" facade is viewed in retrospect. You have in the palm of your hand the power to expose a pig and his minions for what they are, destroy them! Don't go quietly into old age, trying to pick up work where you can find it. Know that you are a fine actress, that you can't and don't need to try to justify, apologize or be judged for the past. How many great talents have those who love cinema been denied because of the Weisteins of the world?
The greatest role you will ever play is the one where you made a PIG SQUEAL.
Deliverance 2 anyone?
