She probably known mostly for Pollyanna because she won a specialty Oscar, but she gave her best performances in "Tiger Bay", "Twisted Nerve", and "Whistle Down the Wind".

Also check out "The Moon-Spinners" (1964), which I saw for the first time recently. It inserts 17 year-old Hayley into an island adventure that works well because it's relatively realistic, has superb locations/sets and a well-chosen cast (e.g. Eli Wallach as the villain). It's basically Hayley Mills meets "North by Northwest" (1959) and "The Day the Fish Came Out" (1967).

I suspect that's right. There are several British film that still get shown but outside the UK, possibly even in it, it's probably The Parent Trap.

'Whistle Down The Wind' is my favorite. I can always picture her innocent wide-eyed look in that one.
