Hoping Mel gets invited to the 67th Golden Globes....

Gemini71 here,

I hope that, come tomorrow, I will see visual confirmation that Melanie Lynskey has finally been invited to the Golden Globes. So far, an invitation to the big Hollywood award ceremonies, such as this one, the SAG Awards and the Academy Awards have eluded her. I really want to see that change this year. She should be given the opportunity to walk the red carpet in all three of these events. The time has come for her to be allowed to do so.

She wasn't invited to the Golden Globes - AGAIN!!! I can but hope that she is invited to attend the SAG Awards and the Academy Awards. That would definitely sweeten my disappointment that she didn't get to walk the red carpet at this awards ceremony. I'm sure that there are other Melanie Lynskey fans who want to see this happen.

Who says she wasn't invited? She may have had other plans, or -- shock horror -- she might not have actually wanted to go?

Nate,

I suppose so. I guess I'm just sore that she didn't get a nomination for her roles in 'Away We Go' and 'Up In The Air'. 2009 has seen her work the hardest she's ever done, in five films no less. Yet, she still isn't registering on Hollywood's radar. I'm now going to pin my hopes on 2010 being the year Lynskey finally gets the lead female room in a mainstream American movie, which, coincidentally, is the fifteenth anniversary of her big screen debut. It'd be terrific to see her her name in big letters on a film poster.
