Are you Lynskeyium on wikipedia? If so, please stop altering her biography/s to state your own opinon. The following was entered against her wikipedia:

However, a shortage of subsequently roles and there being a lack of publicity being organised for her, she was pushed out of the limelight as quickly as she entered it.

In spite of the critical acclaim levelled in her direction, her career stalled for two and a half years.

There are many journalists that use wiki and other actor bios as a basis for their articles and I (as well as others) have gone to a great deal of trouble to correctly reference and simply state her achievements. I don't know why you keep doing this - you are not helping her.

Pepsimaxie,

I feel the need to enlighten you on a few points concerning the matter you have raised regarding my editing Melanie Lynskey's Wikipedia page.

Point 1 - When 'Heavenly Creatures' was released, there were no magazine articles connected with the film's publicity that featured Melanie.

Point 2 - In the Wikipedia entry, it makes out that she chose to drop out the limelight between 1995 and 1997. I know that isn't true. In an interview she gave back in 1998, she said that she was rejected for every movie role she tried for, when she went to America, and the general feeling I got from the Pavement mag interview was that things weren't that much better when she returned to her home country, in terms of her acting career prospects. All in all, further education was, back then, the only way to keep herself busy. That, and some good advice from Gaylene Preston, helped to start her on the road which has led to where she is now.

Point 3 - The other correction I needed to make was regarding her role in 'The Frighteners'. Whoever wrote her bio, does not know the difference to being given a cameo role and being an extra. A cameo performance is another way of describing an actor or actress as having a special guest-type role. Now and again, they are un-credited, but isn't that common an occurance. If that were true about Mel's appearance in this film, her name would have been on the opening credits. Yet, she only was given two things to do, smile and turn round. In my experience of watching films, that is what extras usually do.

I hope this points clarify why I made the changes I did. Apart from the inconsistancies I mentioned, the Wikipedia entry was more or less correct.

Sigismond, thanks for your long reply but your comments are rejected. I have read comments you have made about Melanie in the past and you are easily one of the most negative 'fans' I have ever come across. Please stay away from her wikipedia page and any other bios.
Further, I read her wikipedia page last year - it was absolutely shocking - one of the worst I've come across based on your opinion with no references and incredibly damaging to an actors career. She may need to be a bit more forward in her publicity but it has been her choice - I don't know what your problem is.

Pepsimaxie,

You completely misunderstand my intentions. First and fourmost, I am not a 'negative' fan, as you put it. The changes I implemented were to highlight the lack of success she was having in the early part of her career, up until 1998, not to put her down as an actress. In fact, the opposite is true. I am very supportive of her career, and, if you look at other topics I have started, I have made it clear that Hollywood needs to be picking her up on her radar. All in all, I want her to succeed and to become a leading lady. My changing aspects of the Wikipedia bio was because I have read interviews with her and I was able to spot the things that weren't true. I cannot state this enough - I am one of her most supportive fans, not someone who is out to destroy her career. If anything, I am critical of the Hollywood executives who are failing to see her as a potential leading lady.
