Wishing Mel is featured in the 2010 Vanity Fair Hollywood issue.....

Gemini71 here,

With the availabity of the 2010 edition of the Vanity Fair Hollywood issue in UK stores imminent, I am hoping to see Melanie Lynskey in the annual photographic portfolio that spotlights current stars as well as stars of the future. If it happens, it'll be the first time she's appeared in a British magazine. Her name usually appears in brackets in reviews and articles, which I find depressing, as it highlights the unwillingness of the writers and feature editors employed by these publications to acknowledge her in the UK as a leading lady of the future. As an actress, she has long since gained the strength to handle leading lady roles. I just wish that movie makers would realise that.

Just seen the portfolio, and she's not in it - again! How much longer is it gonna' be before Melanie Lynskey is finally acknowledged as a Hollywood leading lady in the making? Producers and casting directors should stop giving her low-profile supporting roles and put her name forward for major ones; the type of parts that can finally see her breakthrough into A-List status - a position she should've been in ten years ago. I know I've asked this question before, but it is still a relevant one: will proper stardom ever happen for her?

It's nice to see you're so supportive of her and her career. It is a shame she's not in the same league as Kate Winslet, but she is doing some great work. Perhaps as an actor, she is just happy to be working in the industry, though stardom couldn't happen to a nicer gal.
