I didn't think she was so hot in Heavenly Creatures, but she blossomed into a gorgeous woman. I think she looks so hot now.

Only ever seen her in Two and a Half Men but you're right, she is hot. Easily one of my favourite actresses' looks wise, right next to Zooey Deschanel.

Saw HEAVENLY CREATURES back in '94 when it came out, was captivated by both her and Kate Winslet's performances. Both were unknowns then. I remembered thinking, "That Winslet girl's gonna be a big star," but although Melanie was eminently watchable and intriguing in HC, I didn't find her particularly attractive.
Boy, has that changed! She has matured into a beautiful woman, and is even more talented than before to boot. It took her longer than Kate to garner recognition (and I've read the articles about her difficulties getting work for several years in Hollywood), but she's made it to the forefront of the industry after being nearly forgotten... good for her! On top of that, she seems like a really nice and genuine person in interviews.
Not to seem shallow about appearances, but acting deals SO much in looks and personal attractiveness, it's just a part of the game. Never would have thought, back in '94, that Lynskey would turn out to be equally beautiful to Winslet.

I couldn't agree more. I believe Kate Winslet peaked in beauty around the filming of Titanic (see kids, don't smoke) while as of now Melanie Lynskey is in full blossom. She shines brighter than a million suns.
