Underrated in The Big C!
Sure, she has won a few awards here and there. But the entire show is highly underrated. And I honestly don't get why. If you compare the ratings of TBC to something like that of The Office (another show that I absolutely adore) they're significantly lower. I live in the Netherlands, and over here A LOT of people know The Office but hardly anyone knows or has even heard of TBC. I just don't get that. Even though it obviously plays the C card all the time, it's more original than any of the other show currently out there. Is it because even though we all care about cancer, it's still some sort of taboo? Laura is brilliant in it. Very compelling, loveable and believable as a character. At the end I actually felt like I had lost a close friend. As weird as that may sound to some.. I'm not sure how TBC did in the US? Or how well known it wad over there? But by looking it up online and stuff... It kinda felt as if it wasn't as well received as I thought it was.
