Rock Hudson was known for his roles in romantic comedies opposite Doris Day -- most famously 1959 ¨Pillow Talk¨ with Doris Day. Before that he had dramatic performances in Magnificent Obsession (1954) and Giant (1956) for which he earned his single Academy Award nomination.
