I went to a movie today and they had preview for H.P. and Deathly Hallows... I looked for Ciaran Hinds in it but could not determine which one he was... I know the characters name and could tell he is obviously not H.P. or his friends or Valdamort.....There was a guy who looked like Dumbledorf with shorter hair and there was a guy with short hair and goatee ....it was kind of frustraiting.
shareIt's possible he's not in it at all. In fact, I wouldn't hold my breathe for CH to be in the first of the Deathly Hollows movies at all. Aberforth's only really in one extended scene in the book and it would most likely be in the second film. (An image of his eye might be in this first film, if anything).
shareHe plays Aberforth Dumbledore, Albus' brother, who runs a pub in Hogsmeade village.
He's pretty crucial in the last book, if you've read that.
(Or did you just mean you couldn't spot him in the trailer? Me neither)
I could not spot him in the trailer and I was reading an article about the Deathly Hallows in Entertainment Weekly...no mention of him or his character... they listed the new characters for part 1 maybe we will see him next year in part 2.
shareI think it's far more likely he'll be in Part 2. Aberforth's scene is close enough to the end that I don't think it'd be in Part 1.
There's a certain 'magical' element that involves a quick glimpse of Aberforth earlier in the book, but he wouldn't be identified or have dialogue for that.
I don't think Aberforth's role will be enough to warrant seeing him in the trailers. Not to mention, they may be trying to hide what Aberforth's appearance is as a dramatic device, so we never know for sure which brother we are looking at.
