Claudius in Benedict Cumberbatch's Hamlet

They are clearly going for "iconic" with this production out of London, which isn't a bad thing, though can lead to dreadfully dull productions, like Jude Law's five years ago. In any event, Hinds is playing Claudius, the villain of the piece, for which he is very well-suited. I imagine that he'll be excellent, though I hope they don't end up making him a stereotypical villain. I just watched Peter Sarsgaard's Hamlet in New York, and that production's Claudius (played by veteran screen actor Harris Yulin) was more sympathetic than Hamlet was!

Has anyone seen Ciaran in Shakespeare before? I'm sure he'll do a great job with the language.

I think he will be brilliant. Booked my ticket to see it at the cinema because he's in it.... And some guy.... Ben something?!!
