Please cast him in a lead role!
He's a terrific and charismatic actor, yet always given secondary roles. That's sad, I think he'd be just terrific in a lead role.

Watch "The Sea", "The Eclipse", he has the lead role in both.

How about Kay Mellor's version of Jane Eyre? He played Mr Rochester, and was marvellous. My favourite interpretation of the role.
shareThank you! yeah he's my favorite Rochester, I think his looks (except for the moustache) is accurate to Mr. Rochester's description, and i like how passionate he is. The other Rochester leave me cold and unmoved.
... Viva Clark Gable, el eterno y único Rey de Hollywood
He starred in the Academy Award-winning short The Shore, a tale of two old friends reunited after the Troubles set them on different paths. That's well worth seeing, and so is the full-length film Persuasion (1995), a romantic drama adapted from Jane Austen's novel.
shareIt's not really a *lead* role (though he is the love interest), but he's great in Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. I also highly recommend both Persuasion and Ivanhoe. And he's also great in Jane Eyre.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day was a nice surprise: a period comedy with a nod to screwball classics but also a touch of poignancy. It deserves to be better known.
