This guy has no emotional range at all!!!

In my opinion, his acting skills are REALLY limited.

He doesn't even seem to enjoy what he's doing.

Maybe some people find him cute or appealing but after seeing the movie "Resurecting the Champ" (2007) I can honestly say that this guy is totally overrated...Samuel L. Jackson delivers a GREAT performance in this movie but Hartnett is really bad in his delivery.

I'm willing to give this guy another chance, but I hope he takes some acting classes

Why the hell is he so stiff?!!!! He would be so great to play the role of DEATH in horror flicks...Any type of non-human creature would fit.

There's still some hope left for him though...I hope he won't ruin more movies!

I agree with you,Josh seems like a cool guy and I understand why women like him but this guy is one of the worst actors today.I have seen more range from actors in community college plays.

*bump*

And I really wish he would stop being cast in roles like he had in Sin City, and The Black Dahlia. He is a decent actor, but he is not believable AT ALL as a detective.

??? There must be a reason why he's chosen for certain movies/roles...maybe you guys just wouldn't understand because you're not Film Experts...and I'm not saying I am! But don't call him a 'bad actor'.

I PERSONALLY think his performance in Resurrecting The Champ was quite amazing. I got as stressed out as his character was in it and the scenes with his son made me cry. He's believable. Just because he's a pretty face doesn't mean that's all he's good at. There's more to him, it's much harder for a good-looking actor to be respected as an actor in Hollywood...so cut him some slack, his job is harder than some other actors.

I respect him for playing roles like Donald in Mozart and the Whale; I have an Autistic family friend and Josh did an AMAZING job. How can you say he isn't a good actor??? Come on you guys, you shouldn't be so judgemental.

reply

He is a pretty boy. You can't have a pretty boy playing a gritty detective. It's just like when Leo was cast in the aviator...that is the worst casting imaginable.

reply

wow...you sound like a moron man.
sorry, but you're saying that a "pretty boy" can't play a good role?
what can they only play as? models, the town hunk?
come on...

reply

Yes! That is exactly what I am saying. I don't care what role he can play. I care when movies like Sin City have otherwise great casting, and then have someone like him in it. If Brad Pitt can pick roles that are believable then so can he.

Watch "Mozart and the Whale" Will.
You CANNOT say that a pretty boy can't have the life he wants and pick the roles he wants and KNOWS he can play.
Stop objectifying them...

Well, no expert will agree with you when whe talk of the "resurrecting the champ" performance. Josh blew it, end of story. Samuel L Jackson saved the movie.

I'm no expert, that might be true. But in my opinion, Josh Hartnett wasn't a good casting choice.

Take a look a "Ebert and Roeper's" movie review, they do agree with me all the way (I had not seen this review before seeing the movie) :

(when you arrive on the website, type the movie title "resurrecting the champ" in the search bar)--> you should see the link which leads to the online review

This guy CAN act...but doesn't pull it off as often as he could. Maybe he stills needs some pratice.
