another actor who drunk too much and ruined his career?

I keep hearing how great RICHARD HARRIS was as an actor but he seems to have left too little evidence of this.
There is a lot of evidence of him getting drunk and being rude to people.

Even more than Richard Burton he seems to have spent more time drinking than making films,or good films anyway.

To which Harris himself would say "Amen", but from "The Field" to the end of his life he had a pretty good run, whereas Burton died at about the time he was starting to reestablish himself.
