well, he wasn't . . . at least I don't think so. But his famed character of Albus Dumbledore was/is.

Excerpt from an article written by HILLEL ITALIE, AP National Writer that was featured on Yahoo! news:

"Harry Potter fans, the rumors are true: Albus Dumbledore, master wizard and Headmaster of Hogwarts, is gay. J.K. Rowling, author of the mega-selling fantasy series that ended last summer, outed the beloved character Friday night while appearing before a full house at Carnegie Hall.

She was asked by one young fan whether Dumbledore finds "true love."

"Dumbledore is gay," the author responded to gasps and applause."

I never understood why that was important to bring out. The series was complete. It couldn't be incorporated into the story. And now there are people criticizing Jude Law in The Fantastic Beasts series because he's not portraying Dumbledore as "gay enough."
