Just one of the loveliest men!
I met Richard Harris many times, being his fan club secretary for 8 years in England, starting when I was just 16.
He was kind, funny, exciting, fun to be around, generous and helpful.
I got to go to film premieres, Shepperton Studios to see Cromwell being made, Pinewood to see Bloomfield being edited, T.V programmes and the theatre, all at his invitation. And then, sadly, to his tribute staged by his 3 sons after his death, which was a really moving experience.
They were just the best years! He is truly missed. One of the last true film stars.
Do film "stars" now match up to him?
