Best films to start with

As evidenced by my user name, I am a huge Jean Harlow fan! For those looking to start watching her films, I thought I'd give my two cents as to where to start :)

Her career was very short (essentially 1930-1937) so to get the full scope the earlier the better, but with that being said I wouldn't ever really recommend starting with Hell's Angels[/i] or [i]Goldie etc. You get to see the evolution of her different hair styles/make up (and don't forget the eyebrows!) by going in order more or less.

If people are especially interested in the more 'pre-code' feeling films, Red Headed Woman is a great place to start. Other than that, Red Dust would be my #1 pick.

I 'kind of' agree with you, with "Red Dust'.....but what about "Bombshell"??????? and "Dinner at Eight"? really showed off her comedy skills in those.........
