In the movie "Less than Zero" when Robert Downey Jr's character is at an Xmas bash he steps outside to take a few puffs from his crack pipe and in the background you can clearly see Richard playing a background partygoer smoking a cigarette.

Less is a great film. Love the book also.
Loved the book. It was stylistically ahead of its time and captured 80's bourgeois teenage culture perfectly. But the movie was a disappointment.
shareI saw it 9 months ago and liked it. In the past I preferred the book. Now the book feels a bit dated while the film holds up. However we can’t really compare those two as there are very little from the book in the movie.
