Why Not a Remake of Dragnet with Miguel?! He'd Be Perfect.

Why Not a Remake of Dragnet with Miguel?! He'd Be Perfect.

The first time I ever saw Miguel Ferrer and heard his voice, quite a long time ago, I thought he must be related to Jack Webb...

And since then I've always wondered why Hollywood didn't do a remake of Dragnet with him as the star... instead of the lousy remake they did do a few years back with the wrong star -- can't even remember who that was now.

Yes, he looks like his father Jose and he looks like Bogie, too, but he also looks a lot like Jack Webb and he has that wonderful voice...

If the script was good, I think he'd blow audiences out of the water as Joe Friday...

And there's no time like the present to do it!

But please give him a good script for it. Something meaningful that would make everyone associated proud.

PS I'm glad that the IMDb added this feature if for no other reason than I could suggest this role for Miguel.

I couldn't agree more!!! I aactually came here to look him up and see if he was posably a student of fan oh Jack Webb. I can close my eyes and I would not know the difference. Great voice, awesome cadence. Glad to see domeone else agrees.

Now how sbout Mark Ruffalo ina remake of Columbo? Think of him as the character he played in Zodiac.

Oh, wow, you are right on the money with that! Ruffalo looks like he stepped right out of Peter Falk's forehead! And he'd make a super Colombo!

Why don't casting directors see what's right in front of their noses when it comes to picking the perfect star for a remake of some great old show? They could either leave the setting back in those times or update it to cover current times, but with the right actor taking on the role of the previous one -- same character new incarnation.

BTW, I love Mark Ruffalo, too!
