Do you think he's capable of winning an Oscar?

Or do you think his best is only being good in a movie without any award recognition?

I think if he did a string of films in a row and built a rep as a "serious" actor, maybe he could. I think what might hurt him is that in between his "art" films he does his more typical fare, which maybe harms his reputation enough to keep him off of the ballots.

The thing about his dramatic work is that he can't shake the Sandlerisms. I don't think he can ever be a chameleon.

Maybe not, but chameleon isn't the only type of actor who gets the top gold. Tommy Lee Jones won a supporting Oscar and he's usually playing similar parts.
