Poor career choices?
Upto and including NETWORK Faye had a career any actor would be proud of she had made a string of commercially and artistic successes including BONNIE AND CLYDE, CHINATOWN , THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR, etc she was a major star no doubt about it. After her OSCAR win things kind of fell apart I never understood it with some larger than life and some ridiculous goofy films MOMMIE DEAREST, WICKED LADY, EYES OF LAURA MARS etc what went wrong? I mean from the good career choices to the dire ones? Her career can clearly be seen in two seperate parts.... pre and post NETWORK as anyone any theories? Just back from cinema where I saw her in THE BYE BYE MAN and I was very saddened. I actually thought she was good in this movie, too good for the lousy dross she was appearing in and I could not understand it, does she just want to work, or is she desperate for money, WHY WHY WHY???? Perhaps her poor choices have limited her offers? I mean she should be up there with Jane Fonda, Vanessa Redgrave, Susan Saradon competing for the best older women roles...... I look at her career now, and being British the career's of Judi Dench, Maggie Smith and am saddened for Faye Dunnaway, I mean the talent is there even in this horrible little horror she is good so what the hell went wrong?
