Seriously underated. Definitely one of the best

I'm ready to say that he definitely belongs in the top 5 of greatest actors of all time. Nobody can express himself like Benicio can, magnificent!

/Mad, bad and dangerous to know\

I agree Dylan McKay. Too bad he does not work more. There seems to be lengthy intervals between films. He is far too talented to be idle for such long periods of time.

reply

Yes Benicio is certainly a natural, some people believe he's not that good because his roles are rarely dramatically driven but that doesn't mean he never gets the opportunity to show his chops. He makes me forget hes an actor cause he is so natural and unassuming and he just glides almost in the scenes. Very underrated and should be more critically acclaimed.

How much more could his roles in "21 Grams", "Things We Lost In the Fire" and "Che" be dramatically driven. He rarely plays in lighthearted comedies.

He was nominated for an Oscar for "21 Grams" but was overlooked by the Academy for his role as the drug-addicted Jerry Sunborne in "Things We Lost In The fire" and of course, "Che" but it was too controversial for the Academy.

reply

Agree... His performances in TWLITF and CHE were both Oscar worthy. I sometimes think he gets snubbed because he doesn't play the Hollywood game and dares to be controversial. I think he gets "punished" by the media for not being a "media whore." Oh well... hopefully we'll get to see many more performances.

Well what I meant was he rarely jumps around kicking and screaming like people think u have to do to get an academy award :)

totally agree!!

i agree! Ofcourse it is dificult to tell if it is because he has been casted in so many good movies, or it it because of his preformances. But i love him!!!
