As much as I love that he's gettting so much work now...................

....every time I see his face in a trailer it's just like "oh...because of Game Of Thrones".

Same thing with Bryan Cranston and "oh...because of Breaking Bad".

It's really the most ridiculous complaint in the world but....I am ridiculous.

You're not alone.
I hope I won't get heat for this but as much as I love him as an actor most of the stuff he did after 1993 are pretty obscure, others pretentious, and the rest just trash most of them available have him either in a cameo, or as the villain. I think all he wants to do is get work even if it is just small roles w/c is a shame really bec. I think he's got great talents that have never been fully explored.
There's Despite The Falling Snow coming up...I think he has a big part in that and he's not playing a villain. :)

I remember watching the first season of Game Of Thrones, the only season I've actually watched, and seeing Charles Dance and being like "oh my God! It's Charles Dance! And he's still awesome!"

Now it's "Oh my God! It's Charles Dance....again....because of Game Of Thrones."

Yes it's true most actors don't exactly lose their skill. Charles Dance is still Charles Dance and it took a TV show to remind people of that.

Michael Keaton has still always been great and now Birdman and now he's getting offers up the ass.

Kurt Russell is probably still *beep* Kurt Russell. Someone give him an action movie.

I think it has a lot to do with an actor's popularity...the more popular the actor the more audiences are going to flock to the movies, but it does make the actors look as tho they're just getting hired because of their popular roles even playing the same popular role in a movie.

Same thing goes for Michelle Pfieffer she's probably still Michelle Pfieffer but wtf happened to her?

Or even Meg Ryan. Where the hell did she go? Maybe female actresses truly do have an expiration date in Hollywood.

Maybe. I think the older they get (Meryl Streep aside) for the usual roles (romantic comedies in Meg's case) they tend to get thrown into the character actor role (best friend, boss, villain etc.) maybe she wasn't prepared for that transition in movies but I think she could pull it off on tv...people are flocking to tv shows more now than the movies.

wtf are you talking about ? he has always lots of work , just before games of thrones came out he was in big movies like your highness, underworld.. , and its not like he doesnt deserve it like other sactors you see who get big parts out of a successful show when they had little to do with it.. . most famously blond girl and skinny guy out of the british version of the office.. at

Agreed!
Charles will always be Benedict from Last Action Hero to me.

And Bryan will always be Hal from Malcolm in the Middle.
