Wow has she gone downhill since Lost In Translation! Somewhere was boring and the Bling Ring was in the top 3 worst movies I have seen this year! Absolutely no plot,it's just a bunch of entitled kids driving around rapping, stealing and snorting coke for an hour and a half! She needs to do an adaptation of non-rich ppl and do something gritty and she'll be good again.

shareU really surprised there SBreezy? It was a one trash wonder about Sofia Coppola's rich, self absorbed life and her love affair with older guy Billy Murray. She got her s hits and giggles at the expense of the 'foreign' and funny Asian people. Thank god for Murray, her rich Daddy and Hollywood connections for driving this film or it would have been an afterthought or just one of those artsy trash fellow self absorbed hipsters dig.
shareI'm not sure she went downhill, so much as she simply got Lucky with Lost in Translation. Plain and simple, she stumbled into directing one of the best films of the decade, and she can't live up to even half the expectations following such a film. A sub-par director who chanced upon a great project. Its happened before...*cough* Shyamalan *cough*
shareWhat about The Virgin Suicides? Excellent film. Also personally I enjoyed the hell out of The Bling RIng! But agree with Somewhere being dreadfully boring lol. I watched it and the second it ended I forgot everything I had just seen.
shareI think she somewhat managed to create some of the great atmosphear from LIT in Somewhere, allthough obviously quite limited still, and yeah the story just wasnt that great.
Overall I am quite disappointed... whish she would at least stop with these *beep* pop movies and try to do something more "indie" in a way
