The Great Gatsby

Sofia Coppola should have made The Great Gatsby.
1. Most of her films deal with wealthy, and usually powerful, people who lead empty lives.
2. The details matter to her.
3. She has beautifully choreographed party sequences.
4. Her visuals are fantastic.
5. She incorporates modern music better than any other director.
6. She would capture the almost nostalgic tone of the novel.
7. She would direct the character, Daisy, perfectly.

Had she made The Great Gatsby, it would have been beautiful.

Everything you say is correct, I can especially imagine her sensitive and elegant approach to Daisy and Fitzgerald's dialogue. Although I did have fun with Baz's version.

Then... speak of the devil and the devil appears.
