Says intimacy coordinators aren’t necessary

“I have been offered an intimacy coordinator… and I’ve denied them access to the actual scene because I didn’t feel like I needed them. I think the natural way lovers behave would be ruined by someone bringing it right down to a technical exercise. It would inhibit me more because it’s drawing attention to things.”

Well that's her opinion. I've been working as an intimacy coordinator for many years with talents like Alexandra Daddario, Scarlett Johanson, Christina Hendricks or Gal Gadot and it was always a wonderful experience for both of us.

And Gadot needs all the help she can get. She has the acting talent of a petrified plank of wood.

While I’m a fan of the rest, none of them have the talent or understanding of how scenes should be shot like Collette does. So I can understand they’d need someone showing them how to do it, even having sex.

Also, I’ve seen some of your other posts. You’re no intimacy coordinator. 😄

Do you tell them where to place their hands and arms to avoid nudity or is that a directing thing?

As they're almost completely nude, that's more of an issue for the DOP. My job is to get them in the right "mood". We usually meet before shooting in a secluded room, to talk and act through the crucial moments of such a scene.

For others who can’t stand up for themselves like she does or are less talented so need more direction than she does.
