Always plays the same kind of role?

Does anyone else notice that predominantly, Toni always plays the same kind of role? An emotionally damaged, dysfunctional, neurotic woman in films (usually a mother) who struggles to find peace/resolution in her life.

Has she been "type-casted"?

I acknowledge and realise that Toni can bring a LOT of emotional depth to her roles, with fine nuances that shows sorrow, grief, embarrassment and so on.

No,not always

She didn't play a character like that in Hitchcock (2012). I saw it for the first time, this month.

I think she's been getting typecast as "the mom" at least in recent times. Little Miss Sunshine, The Way Way Back, others.

You obviously haven't seen too many of her films.
