Nonentity


The woman’s stardom was inexplicable. She had the charisma of a loofa. She made movies in an era when Hollywood wanted to cast “real people” and not the beautiful or the handsome. She was the Jennifer Lawrence of her era, most likely with a lot of support behind the scenes.

I didn't know she was Jewish but a lot of her roles were similar to ones played by Diane Keaton and Candice Bergen.

She does look utterly WASPish in the 70s though.

Naw. She is beautiful in her way, which is something you can say about many leading actresses. You may be able to say it about some actors (male) as well? But we the audience are a fickle bunch and our tastes, such as they are and influenced by the society around us, change. I always thought she was lovely, especially in semi-tough, and she does have wonderfully expressive eyes.
