He was so great as the father in Fat Kid Rules The World

In the beginning, you think, "Oh great. He's going to be yet another hard ass in the history of hard ass fathers, but he was so enduring and understanding. I wish movies would portray more fathers in this light, because they do exist. Instead, we get the impossibly angry fathers who don't even remotely listen to their kids.

If you haven't watched Fat Kid Rules The World, you should definitely check it out. If only for Billy Campbell. His role as the dad was my favorite and that's usually only said when a father hilariously steals a movie. He did nearly steal the movie and he was funny, but he was so much more. Jacob Wysocki and Matt O'Leary were also great.

He was perfect. As a service member, I know how hard it is for soldiers and especially Marines, to have that empathy for their children. As a widower, however, he had to reach deep down and find that understanding and compassion that would've come from a mother. P.S. I'm embarrassed to say that I thought he was David James Elliott
