I've just started watching Helix and came here to find out if anyone else noticed the whispering. I wondered if maybe he has something wrong, because I don't remember him being like this in other stuff, though I haven't seen much of his work.

I'm starting to wonder if it was the way the had him mic'd or something. He doesn't whisper in any other role, but it's blatantly obvious in Helix.

I wouldn't call it whispering, but in other roles, his voice has often seemed under-stated.

I came here, too, because of how annoying his voice is. But the Doctor Hatake actor is just about the same.
