Hope he does a Rocketeer sequel!

I think the fans would love to see it happen, instead of a remake.

Maybe even a TV movie sequel would be good enough if well directed and with decent SFX, writing and acting.

Also, bringing Jennifer back is a must, as well as Alan Arkin!

Don't even get me started on REMAKES!!!!!!!!!!!! They say they make them because they believe they're a SURE THING. If so, then why do they always FLOP?!

I'm trying to think of a sequel that was better than the original- maybe SpiderMan 2. But not 3. It doesn't happen that much. Lord of the Rings maybe, but that film was always designed as a three-parter, The second and third parts were not made on the strength of the first, all three were created because it was the best way to tell the story.

It seems that the Marvel movies of late are also designed that way, telling stories from the comics in a way that accommodates pulling material from their graphic novels, and even crossing over from one set of movies into another with characters that are common to all of them I actually like this style of moviemaking because it gives me something to look forward to and for the most part I am pleased with most of the entries. But if you look at some of the great sequels alien which Spohn to aliens which was well over the top of alien even with different directors James Camaron respected the work done by Ridley Scott. But sometimes it doesn't work, the first predator movie was incredible but the other movies in that franchise really weren't that good if you wish except for maybe alien versus predator, the first one, not Requiem which sucked. And I had high hopes for Prometheus which was visually beautiful and stunning but weak as far as the writing and I really didn't like the head actress she just wasn't that good. And keep in mind the movie goers of today are jaded, personally I thought Star Wars the force awakens was incredible and for me and has held up to five different viewings and it was still exciting each time. But from the reviews here on IMDb, you would think it was the worst piece of sh*te ever created. Which I cannot agree with.

As much as I loved that movie, if it wasn't sequelled within 2 years after it was out, it'll never happen. Also, "sequels" are a thing of today where movies are franchises and the actors all sign contracts to make 3 of them. In the 90's, a movie had to be incredibly great to have a sequel considered, and there were some great movies in the 90's that were never sequelled. The only films that got sequels were the Trek movies, which were made all on the strength of a TV show, a syndicated show even. Sequels started happening around the early 2000's, but it just seems like the movies made from then on were designed to be the first in a franchise.

I love the original, and I'm happy if they leave well enough alone.

But if they were to make a sequel, I would think it would have to be the next generation, with Billy and Jennifer returning as the parents. (But I'd want them involved in the story, not just appearing in token book-end scenes.)

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
