Love you much, Betty!

Just saw "Tender Mercies" for the first -- and, God willing, last -- time the other day, and I must say she (and Bobby D.) really did a fine job. It's amazing how she can give her ex-husband an evil-eye like no other, then turn around later and give him the most heartbreaking look when (SPOILERS!) he goes to see her after their daughter has died.

I have seen only a handful of Betty's performances (e.g. movies like "Carrie," and on TV in "Eight is Enough" and "Oz"), but she has been great in every single one of them.

Judging by her scant filmography, Hollywood obviously has no idea what to do with her! Surprised? Not really. Saddened? Most definitely. It's a real shame Hollywood continues to let this talented actress go to waste. Betty, you deserve better.

Why do you hope you have seen "Tender Mercies" for the last time? It's a great film that I've enjoyed watching many times over the years. Robert Duvall definitely deserved his Oscar and Ms. Buckley should have been nominated!

Don't get me wrong, "Tender Mercies" was a good movie, but it was just so sad. I agree with you that Bobby D. deserved his Oscar, and Betty B. should have gotten one, too!
