On the DVD of Carrie, Betty says she's happy to be here talking about the movie all these years later even though she didn't expect to live past 35 (or something like that). Was she ill back then? Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks.
shareI think she was referring to a time when she was abusing drugs and alcohol - she was a close friend of John Belushi and lived in the same building as he did. She reportedly cleaned up her act in 1979 and hasn't had a problem since.

shareI thought she was really sick too... for the longest time I thought she was DEAD. So when I saw her name I thought it was another woman with a similar name... gees... so she IS still alive. How'd I miss all her roles?
shareI admire her for not being all botoxed, dyed, and pulled like other actresses her age. I think she is pretty the way she is. Faye Dunaway looks like a drag queen, Betty looks great natural.
