Sound track for Tender Mercies
My wife loves this music, but I have been unable to find a sound track. Does anyone know if one was ever recorded, or if Betty Buckley recorded some of the songs she sang?

Betty was not on the movie sound track for Tender Mercies, but she did record "Over You" on her "London Concert" CD. Check it out. It's my favorite CD of hers that I own.
shareThe song is also on her 15th Anniversary Release of Betty Buckley, with a song she wrote called Tender Mercery that wasnt released with the movie.
shareI have no clue why . . . I was upset when the CD came out and Lane Brody ended up singing "Over You". I'm sure they had their reasons (all of which I doubt are any good!) I loved her singing that song! Plus when I saw her in concert way back in 1987 she sang the song she wrote for the movie called "Tender Mercy" which I thought was super fantastic! It was finally released on the re-release of her 15th Anniversary CD! I wish they would have included that song in the movie . . .
I think they did themselves a diservice (and definitely did one to Betty Buckley) by NOT including her version of "Over You" on the soundtrack. I really could NOT hear a single reason as to why they did not include it. I'm sure it had to do with having a "country & western" singer being on the CD . . . . But she had that part down! I think she did "Over You" more than justice . . . I still prefer her version to that of Lane Brody (who I also enjoy but had no part in the movie that I know about . . . ) I mean why not let who sings a song in the movie actually sing it on the soundtrack . . . Isn't that what soundtracks are for? I know sometimes I'm just too logical for words! LOL :-) :-) :-) :-)
u r so correct,,,,agree with u 100% keep u posted in case they release it,,,cd,,
